After a very close fly-by from a previously undiscovered comet, things changed on earth. Ruins appeared outside cities, an illness swept the world, making millions sick. Some people changed as well. The Scryers have become a prominent group, able to learn about a person and sometimes objects. To make sense of all this and to keep records of these new events, The Archivists now play an important role in society and the government.
